He studied the dead body lying on the bed, no longer in pain. Once again, he glanced at the clock with anticipation. It was taking longer than he expected, but he wasn’t in a hurry, not anymore.
He smiled as he felt a cold, bony hand land on his shoulder. It was over at last.
I am a Canberra based, Australian wanna-be writer who is currently finishing off two novels but constantly getting side tracked by my love of writing short stories. I intend to one day publish but at the moment I am having too much fun writing.

The wedding day
An old story from a competiton for 55 word stories.
The Wedding Day The wedding bells tolled. His eyes slipped to the one who had stolen his heart. He noticed her strawberry red lips as she smiled back at him, seeing his love reflected tenfold. His heart sang for her beauty.
There was a small cough beside him. He turned back to his bride and said, ‘I do.’
